Valentine's Day Celebration
The students can bring their homemade boxes tomorrow that have been made out of materials they reused from home. We will have time to pass out Valentine's Cards and read them during the celebration that has been put together by Kristi Kazmierski and parents. I look forward to the fun we will have celebrating the love we share for each other. I truly do LOVE being the teacher for all of the 27 crazy, kind, and wonderful students in our class!
Love Bug Writing
We are embracing the Valentine's spirit and writing about love. The students brainstormed what love is today and will be writing a one paragraph essay on love. We will then have a fun craft project making lady"love" bugs that will go up on our bulletin board in the hallway. I am very impressed with what the students have written so far and I look forward to seeing the finished products.
Southeast Region
We are off on a journey across the Southeast Region. The students read about the Everglades and the Kennedy Space Center this week. We are continuing to record our information on the student web pages as we journey through the United States. My expectation is for the students to write three pieces of information from the book on their web page about each place we visit. They will also need to find their own picture that represents our journey. I am very impressed with what the students have created so far.
Unit 4 Inquiry
Our inquiry projects are taking us on a journey through space. The students were able to chose the groups they were going to be in based on the topic they wanted to know more about. The students will be creating a Google Drawing that will then be turned into a virtual poster using the web 2.0 tool called ThingLink. Finally, the students will present some of their information in a skit in addition to their ThingLink creation. The students are just starting with gathering their information and will start the skit writing process next week. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one piece of information they have learned in their inquiry groups. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
