Marven of the Great North Woods
We continue to read about Marven and his adventures in a lumberjack camp. Marven was tasked with waking up lumberjacks and with making sure the lumberjacks are paid by the number of trees they cut down. Marven had to devise a system to help him keep track of each lumberjack's records and muster up some bravery to wake the giant lumberjacks in the morning. As Marven became successful with each of his jobs, he had free time to explore the area. Today the students read about Marven becoming startled by what he thought was a grizzly. Upon further exploration, Marven discovered that he had come across a lumberjack, Jean-Louis, working away. We will continue to read how Marven and Jean-Louis build a wonderful friendship during the rest of the time Marven is at the lumberjack camp.
After many gentle inquiries, we have found time to work Montana history back in our schedule. The students learned about the drastic temperatures we experience in Montana as well as the major cities around our state. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one fact they have learned this week during our MT history time. I hope you all have a wonderful night and I look forward to another great day of learning. As a reminder, tomorrow is an early out with dismissal being at noon.
