Thursday Study Hall
The fourth and fifth grade teachers met on Tuesday to discuss some possible solutions that will help students turn in their assignments on time. I have started to check in with many students to make sure they have all materials they need to complete when they get home. Additionally, we will be doing study hall on Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:00. Any student with a missing assignment will be given time to work on their assignments during this time. If they do not have a missing assignment, they will be given extra time to work on their literature and mathematics skills using MobyMax. I am hoping this will give all students the opportunity to get immediate feedback on their assignments. If you would like your PowerSchool username and password, please look at your student's assignment notebook as they have the login information at the front. f
Constellation Video
We are building our knowledge on space as we learned about constellations today. The students are also using the reading skill of paraphrasing and visualizing to create a Google Drawing in Google Classrooms that shows 3 facts they learned and pictures that represent the video.
Stone Fox Read Aloud
We will be starting the book Stone Fox next week. The students have spent this week learning about courage, determination, and the state of Wyoming. We will finish the week by learning about sled dogs. The students will have various challenges where throughout the book that allows them to earn Stone Fox points. The students are earning these points to partake in a Stone Fox book celebration at when we finish the book. The students will need to earn at least 20 points to partake in the celebration. The students have already been given the opportunity to earn 10 points before we have even started reading the book. I look forward to sharing one of my favorite books with the class. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one piece they identified on our Wyoming map today. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
