As I looked at the economy state reports, I realized students needed more work on how to paraphrase the research they find regarding the state they are researching. During our lesson, we practiced using no more than 5 words from a sentence in order to avoid plagiarizing someone else's work. Students will continue working on their economy portion of the State Report so that the published version does not have plagiarized material.
Midwest Geography Challenge
We are working on finishing the Midwest region so that we can move on the rest of the regions of the United States. The students will finish looking at the geographical components of the region as well as take the test in the next 2 days as we will finish the challenge and use our websites for a review.
Line of Symmetry
The students had a mystery concept presented today in math. We looked at lines of symmetry and how we can use letters to build an understanding of shapes. We will continue looking at shapes tomorrow in order to determine if a shape has a line of symmetry. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for students to determine if the capital letter "D" has a line of symmetry. It will either have a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line of symmetry.
