The students loved the book If I Ran the Zoo as they thought the animals the boy would find for the McGrew Zoo were very interesting. As an extension activity, the students designed their own made up animal using Google Drawing. We will finish this as time allows tomorrow and I will be printing these out to display in the weeks to come.
Persuasive Essay
The students are doing a great job with determining facts and reasons that will persuade their readers to believe their point of view. We have looked at using facts that will help win over the reader and convince them that our point is the only point to believe. We will work on this essay tomorrow and Monday with the hopes of turning in the assignment Monday afternoon.
MontCAS Science Testing
We have a bunch of science rock stars! The students did a great job today in answering science questions for 2 sessions of the MontCAS science test. The students will have one more session tomorrow morning. We will be doing the SBAC for Reading and Mathematics the second week of May and the NWEA tests the last week of April.
Southeast Region Website
WOW! We have a group of website creators. The students have finished reading about the Southeast region and are currently adding the finishing touches on their websites. The students will have a review next Tuesday with the Southeast Region test on Wednesday. The students will also have a States and Capitals test the following week either on Tuesday or Wednesday. All students received the map for studying as well as flashcards. The assignment notebook code for today is for the students to identify one piece of information they have learned about the Southeast Region. They may use their websites to help. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
