What a wonderful day! The students all were engaged in our learning with a desire to know more. We were abel to get through all of our agenda today.

The students used the reading strategy sequencing events to create a timeline of important events in the life of Celia Cruz. The students will need to continue using this strategy as they read non-fiction and fiction texts. Students continue to grow their reading skills through our differentiated reading groups. We continue to work on discussing what have read and identify important information we have read in our non-fiction texts.

We continue to learn about the state of Montana as we discussed the average temperatures in July. The students have also started to review and identify important map skills they will need in our social studies curriculum.

The students continue to learn about what parts of a speech as a means to understand sentences. The students learned about common and proper nouns today. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for each student to give an example of a common noun and a proper noun. Common nouns are not specific names whereas proper nouns are specific names. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
