What a beautiful Monday! The students took their Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) today. I am so very proud of all the hard work students put into this test. Celebrations were in order for many students as they surpassed their goal by hundreds of points. We have some amazing readers in this class and I so very proud of all the hard word each of them put into their reading this year.
The students had one more day to finalize their inquiry projects. The first 8 students will present their inquiry tomorrow. I will send home the projects after the students have presented their work. I am very impressed with the quality of work each student put into their project.
We have finished all the concepts we are required to learn in fourth grade. The students will have time tomorrow to review for the decimals/fractions assessment on Wednesday. We discussed as a class what we want to review for the remainder of the year. I will build lessons for students to complete that will allow them to review what we have covered in fourth grade.
The students discovered what makes a light illuminate when attached to a battery. The students were given an LED light with electrical conductors and a lithium battery. They has to figure out how to light the LED light and how to make it change colors. The students are now using this knowledge to determine how they can light a flashlight.
The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify the fraction equivalent to 0.034. I hope you all have a wonderful night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
