To say I feel appreciated is an understatement. I am a teacher because I love being part of the growth and learning of each student. Today, I feel so very grateful for the appreciation and support I received this week during Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you for the wonderful gift cards. My husband and I will be enjoying many date nights because of your generous gifts (Mrs. Deborah has agreed to watch Devin for us)! I also enjoyed the beautiful flowers and anecdotes as seen through the eyes of the children. I have truly enjoyed being each student's teacher this year and I am so very glad I get to have at least 5 more weeks of being their teacher. Thank you again for all of your heartfelt gifts and words of gratitude!
As you have already heard, our field trip for Arbor Day did not turn out as planned. There was miscommunication between Parks and Recreation and our school that caused the Parks and Recreation not ho have any room for us during the Arbor Day festivities. As a result, you will all be refunded the $3 for this field trip. Thankfully, I had spent some time with the Audubon Center that allowed me to give some pointers on the plants on Norms Island. The students all did a great job with being flexible and keeping a positive attitude.
The assignment notebook code for today is for the students to identify one plant they learned about during our walk on Norm's Island. The students learning about the wild licorice plant, the willow, the cotton wood tree, and the rose hip bush. I hope you all enjoy your Mother's Day weekend and I look forward to another week of learning!
