Oh where do the weeks go? They seem to just fly by with this week being of no exception!
Our day started out by finishing the NWEA math assessment to help provide information regarding their progress in math since the start of the year. Students will be tested again in the spring to measure their growth for this school year. A couple rounds of "I have, you have" synonym style helped us review and identify synonyms.
We continue to work with division as we develop and work towards long division with two, three, and even four digit numbers as dividends. Neatness is essential when writing out problems as the steps can become very involved. If you have extra time this weekend, keep practicing the multiplication facts. I know I may sound like a broken record, but mastering the facts will help so much when solving division problems. (Code: Keep practicing multiplication/division facts) We will keep working with division next week!
PLTW continues and today we read a fictional story about riding bumper cars. As a class we discussed how the article related to our design problem of how to protect our egg passenger. The energy collisions module will continue for the next couple of weeks.
Due to testing we did not manage to start social studies this week. Look for the SE states and capitals next week!
Remember there is no school on Monday! Enjoy the long weekend!
