Reading
This week's essential question is: How have our energy resources changed over the years? Students will read how an island off the Atlantic Coast changed how they generated electric power as a means to preserve their environment for generations to come. Students will continue using the skills we have focused on this year during the week with an emphasis in writing summary paragraphs.
Heritage Museum
I am so proud of all the hard word students have put into their Heritage Museum Projects. Students will have Monday and Tuesday to finalize all of their projects. Students who are not done with their slides have been encouraged to work at home this week in order to complete the major portion of their presentation. On the day of their presentation, students need to have their artifacts and food dish. Each student will need 48 "Costco Sample" size portions of their food item. When parents come for the museum, students will be standing at their desks and parents can walk around to view each student's project. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Math
We will be finishing up the short unit on Area and Perimeter early in the week. After a short assessment, students will have time to create a game that will allow students to review one of the concepts we have learned this year.
ANTS Field Trip
The weather forecast for Friday, May 25th is looking beautiful. Please make sure students come to school ready for a day out in the sun learning how to be a naturalist. Students will need a water bottle, sunscreen, appropriate clothing for the weather, and a sack lunch.
