Welcome Ms. Bauch!
We have sure enjoyed our time we have spent this week with Ms. Bauch! Ms. Bauch enjoys adventures and is an avid reader. We look forward to the upcoming months and growing in learning with her!
Zones of Regulation
We started discussing the importance of regulating our actions in order to make positive choices to allow learning for all. We discussed the importance of staying in the "Green Zone" and begin our discussions on choices we have make if we find ourselves in other zones. Below this post is a picture of the Zones as well as a clip from the Inside Out movie that explains our emotions.
Reading
WOW! The depth of conversations continues to grow deeper as we really analyze the author's perspective of a text. In the upcoming week, students will look at some persuasive articles with the central topic of genetically modified vs non-genetically modified foods. The students will look at how the details from a given text help you to understand the author's perspective and how form an informed opinion based on the perspectives from all sides.
Math
Students will begin their journey with fractions in fourth-grade as we look at equivalent fractions. Students will use models as well as generate formulas to determine if any given fractions are equivalent.
Science
We will continue looking at forms of energy as we take an in depth look at chemical, mechanical, nuclear, thermal, electrical, and light energy. Students will research one of the forms of energy with a partner and create a quick presentation on their assigned form of energy.
Weekly Code
1. Discuss the information gained during the forms of energy research from lessons on Tuesday and Friday.
2. Discuss the opinions presented regarding GMO vs. Non-GMO foods.
I look forward to another week full of learning adventures!
