ABT Field Trip - Rock the Presidents
Rock the Presidents
Students were entertained today as we learned about the presidents of the United States. The musical was presented a very entertaining show sharing the interesting facts regarding most of the presidents of our country. Students learned about the forgotten presidents, the presidents who were assassinated, the presidents who were voted out, and most importantly, the presidents whose legacy levels on today.
George Ferris's Legacy
Our small group reader this week has presented students with information on the first Ferris wheel. We have learned about how force, friction, and centripetal force make one of the most popular fair rides go around. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to share one cause and effect relationship regarding the building of the Ferris wheel. Some possible relationships might be: the weight of the Ferris wheel created a need for support towers, the World's Fair organizers wanted an interesting attraction so George Ferris created the Ferris wheel, the circular path of the Ferris wheel causes the wheel to continue going in a circular path. These are just examples of the relationships we have read during the week. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
* NOTE: The silent basket auction is taking place this week. Please stop by to bid on a basket. The baskets can be found in the entrance of the school. The auction will close Friday during the Halloween Family Fun Night.
