Where do good ideas come from?
We had the opportunity to start our whole group reading instruction in class today. The students will have 2 text to read during whole group. Today we used the Reader/Writer Workshop book during our introduction to the question, Where do good ideas come from? Students will read many texts showcasing how others have come up with good ideas when needing to solve problems.
Reading Inventories
Students had another opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge today during reading as we started the SRI assessment. This assessment will give me an idea of how students can understand words within a context of a text.
Longitude and Latitude Geo Challenge
Where in the world is...? Students had to use their skills of using longitude and latitude today as they were tasked with finding the location of a city given its longitude and latitude. The students will have a quiz next Tuesday using the exact skills they have practiced in social studies class.
Saturday Live Basket Challenge
Please read the flyer regarding Saturday Live Basket Auctions in today's Tuesday Folder. Our theme is Gift Card Basket. I told the students they can bring any gift card from a local business for our basket. Each gift card will earn a kiddo $20 in Mrs. Gray pay.
Mrs. Deborah
I believe providing students an opportunity to grow in their academics and as a person. The students will spend the year working together as a class to create a quilt we will donate to the Ronald McDonald House. My mom, Mrs. Deborah, will come in every Tuesday before lunch. The students started reading a story, The Quilt Makers Gift, today with Mrs. Deborah. This book will show the students the true meaning of giving.
Rounding
The students are becoming stellar rounders. The assignment notebook code for today is for the students to round 456,721 to the nearest thousands. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
