Lead21
Most students finished their placement assessment today. We will be starting a preview of our first unit tomorrow. The students will learn about heritage and how they can experience other people's heritage. The inquiry unit will revolve around interviewing family members about family heritage and doing some research involving your family's country of origin.
Place-Value
The students did a quick review of place-value today going over digits, the value of a digit, and how we say a number. I was very impressed with all of the student's understanding of place-value and how they could discuss the relationship of the tens, hundreds, and thousands.
Newton's First Law- Daily Code
Student's saw first hand today how Newton's First Law applies to motion. The students were tasked with getting a stack of pennies into a cup and an egg into a cup of water. The code for tonight is for the students to summarize the challenges and identify one of the successful ways we were able to get the egg in the cup of water. Oh how I enjoy science and seeing students come alive when we have to work through scientific problems! I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
