Students will start their inquiry project tomorrow. Students will need to know an ancestors country of origin. We will research facts about their country and identify interview questions for them to ask their family members.

We were all so excited to learn about the heritage associated with quilting today with Mrs. Deborah. The students were able to see how the tools and materials have changed as they looked at fabric, patterns, machines, and tools used to quilt.
Reading Rotations
The students finished their second reading selection today. The students have learned how songs can teach us about a person's heritage, how we can experience culture, and how we can preserve culture.
Sentence Punctuation-Daily Code
We have been working on how to write different sentences and how to combine sentences. The students worked on identifying the appropriate punctuation that is used for a given type of sentence. The assignment notebook codes is for tonight is for the students to identify the 4 types of sentences and what punctuation should be used for each type of sentence. Students identify the following sentences: declarative- (.), exclamatory- (!), interrogative- (?), and imperative- (.) or (!).
