Today marked the first study hall time during fourth quarter. This quarter I will have 2 periods for missing assignment. The first period will be before midterms and the second will be after midterms. I will only allow students to turn in any assignments for a grade during the time period the assignment is due. If a student wants to receive feedback on an assignment that was due in a previous time period, I will gladly give them feedback; however, I will not allow students to turn in assignments for the time period before midterms after midterms have been handed out. The students have 40 minutes each Thursday to work on their missing assignments as well as time when they get home. Students must take responsibility for their work and complete their assignments in a timely manner.
Energy Transfer ThingLink
The students finished their Interactive ThingLinks today on chemical, electrical, nuclear, thermal, light, and mechanical energy. We will have a quick gallery walk tomorrow for each student to see each other's presentation. The students did a great job determining how we use their chosen type of energy in our everyday lives.
Adding Fractions using Models
We are cruising along our adding and subtracting fractions unit. The students have shown that they understand how to add fractions by using addition equations and models. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify the sum of the following fraction problem: 2/6 + 3/6 = ___. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of leaning!
