Prime and Composite Numbers
We are doing a great job of using factors and multiples in many different ways. We discussed that prime numbers only have two factors, 1 and itself whereas composite numbers have more than 2 factors. We will look at the Sieve of Eratosthenes tomorrow to see the history of prime and composite numbers. There is no homework assignment tonight for prime and composite numbers. Students who have not finished lesson 5.1 (page 283) and/or lesson 5.4 (page 303) were told to bring home these assignments to get them done.
MobyMax
Moby Max is an online educational site that gives students an opportunity to master langauge, vocabulary, mathematics, and reading skills. Students were given their MobyMax username and passwords today. The username and password is the number students use to logon to their Chromebook. The students will have time in class to use Moby Max. I encourage the students to login to the site at home as well if they are done with all of their homework. The link to the page can be found on the Student's Corner page of our class website.
Moss Mansion
We have all decided that it would have been so very nice to be a Moss child after touring the mansion. The students had such a great time learning about the history of Billings and the Moss family. Because the students helped with decorating a tree for the Moss Mansion, they have the opportunity to go to the Moss Mansion on Sunday, January 10th from 1-4. The students and their family members do not have to pay for seeing the Moss Mansion as this is a time the Moss staff has given for those who helped decorate. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one fact they learned while on the tour. If the students cannot remember, they all wrote facts down in the Google Classroom assignment for the Moss Mansion. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
