- Mrs. Meier has asked us to remind all students that they will ALWAYS participate in morning walking unless a sign is on the door saying we are inside OR they have a pass.
- WOW! The students had great behavior today. We are working to have flawless transitions. There will be rewards next week if we are able to transition well and earn two Christmas/Winter themed rewards.
Atlantic States
We continue to look at the economy, geography, history, and culture of the United States. The students added to their knowledge bank this week as we learned about Little Italy and Chinatown. Today, the students used the reading skill of paraphrasing to describe New York City. When we paraphrase, we read the passage, identify the important details, and then restate the ideas in our own words. We have been practicing this skill in our reading groups and will continue to use this as we do our inquiry projects the rest of the year. The assignment notebook code is for the students to identify one idea they have learned about the Atlantic states this week as we read Henry and the Kite Dragon. They should mention something about Chinatown or Little Italy.
Plural Nouns
We have been focusing on how we make nouns plural in the English language. As the students have identified, there are always rules we can follow; yet, there are words that do not like to follow the rules.
Assessments/Corrections Tomorrow
We will have the unit 14 spelling test and chapter 2/3 test tomorrow. We reviewed both of these today and I feel confident that each student will do well. I will also send home corrections/missing assignment reports tomorrow so that students can get caught up on their assignments before the break. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
