Let the book clubs begin. The students were so very excited to start book clubs today during reading rotations. I was very impressed with the level of conversation regarding the book and the respect students gave each other as they were discussing their thoughts about what they were reading. I look forward to seeing the students grow as readers as we continue to partake in book clubs.
Shape Patterns
Students learned about the three types of mathematical patterns during our math instruction today. Repeating patterns show a certain set of steps repeating over and over, commonly referred to as ABABAB patterns. Number patterns explain relationships between numbers. Finally, growing or expanding patterns add on to the previous step based on a given rule. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to look at the 2 growing patterns below and describe the pattern rule and/or draw the next step for each set. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
