We all truly enjoyed reading today's hat themed book by Dr. Seuss. In the book, Bartholomew has a problem with not having a hat on his head when the king walks by. Bartholomew's red hat replicates itself whenever his hat is taken back on his head. It took 500 hats for Bartholomew to finally get his hat off of his head because the final hats were changing into better hats that were desired by the king. The students were quit entertained by the book and enjoyed being able to wear a hat today.
Tomorrow is crazy sock day. The students can wear crazy socks inspired by Fox in Sox.
Persuasive Essay
We are coming along on our persuasive essays. The students worked on finding facts that supported their reasons. We worked on using transitional phrases that will cite where we found our information. The students used phrases like "According to _____,..." and "_____ suggests..." I am very excited to read all of these persuasive essays as the students are very passionate about their topics. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one fact they found that will support their point of view. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
