STEM Billings
Students in Billings and the surrounding area have a unique opportunity to experience Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities during 3 Saturdays throughout the school year. The first STEM Billings will be Saturday, November 14th with the theme of the STEM Billings being aviation. The cost for the first STEM Billings will be $20 for materials. The activities will take place from noon to 4. I am so excited to share this experience with students around Billings. If students are interested, I would suggest registering as soon as possible as there is limited space. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Heritage: Who You Are
The students learned so much regarding how we can experience heritage. Today the students used Google Classrooms to create a Google Drawing. The drawing shows what we have learned about heritage. Students can show you what they have learned by accessing their Google Classroom account. I am very impressed with all students have learned. The students are now using this knowledge to ask questions about their heritage.
Using Addition and Subtraction to Solve Comparison Problems
Students used addition and subtraction today as they solved comparison problems. It is important for students to understand that we can use subtraction to find the difference between numbers. The students will continue to use these strategies as we solve more comparison problems throughout the year.
Inquiry
We all enjoyed our time researching our family's country of origin. The students started research the foods that are unique to the family they are researching. We will continue researching important parts of the country in the weeks to come. The assignment notebook code for today is for each student to identify a food that is part of the country. If the students have forgotten, they can access their notes through the Inquiry document found in the Google Classroom. I hope you all have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week of learning.
