Science: restraint system test- our fist trials were completed today
The students had a blast testing their restraint systems and identifying what they need to redesign for our second trials next week. We were all very successful with not cracking any eggs; however, some systems will need a redesign as the eggs fell out of the car but survived. The students will have an opportunity to redesign their cars on Monday and retest their restraint system. After that, the students will have a short write up to identify what was successful and what was not very successful. We will also have a Check Point assessment next Thursday going over all of the ideas we covered in this first unit. We will review next week before the test.
Unit 3 Inquiry
The students had a good chunk of time to work on starting to publish their information for the unit 3 inquiry video. Students have chosen to research tourist sites, endangered animals, historical events, or informational pieces for the Atlantic States. They will then use a video recording app along with Google Slides to create a video highlighting their research. I am going to give them time during reading groups next week to work on this piece with the goal of showing the videos on Friday. The assignment notebook code for today is for the students to identify one fact they have learned in the research of the Atlantic States. I hope you all have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week of learning!
