Tolerance
The students will have many opportunities throughout this year to discuss and practice displaying good citizenship. Our first focus was on tolerance. The students listened to the book Little World: A Book About Tolerance by Joanna F. Carolan. This book discussed how important it is to appreciate our differences instead of stay with what is familiar. The students then built pictures of tolerance by incorporating many shapes as a way to show how we can build pictures using many different shapes.
Making Memories
I am so very honored to have been able to experience our memory activity together. The students did such a wonderful job with bringing precious memories to school. The students did such a great job with showing compassion and care for each other. I know that we are closer as a class because of our experience.
Saving Fred
Our friend Fred the Worm was finally saved. The students worked well together as a team. I can tell the students are going to work well together throughout this school year.
Our classroom code for tonight is for the students to identify a memory they heard from another student. I hope you all have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week of learning!
