- Report cards will go home tomorrow.
- Parent-Teacher conferences start tomorrow.
- The students will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- The students were sent home with a green, half-sheet of paper asking you identify any questions or concerns you would like addressed during the conference. Please fill this out and send back so I can come prepared to the conference.
The students started reading a realistic fiction story today regarding an Inuit girl, Glashka, and her ability to hear the voice of Narna, the whale. We will use our understanding of how to protect our Earth as a means to understand how Glashka can help the beluga whales. The vocabulary words we will use this week are keen, rescued, and cautiously.
Multiplying with Partial Products
Wow! We are a class of fantastic multipliers! We will begin looking at the traditional algorithm tomorrow. We will use our understanding we gained during multiplying with partial products as a tool to help us understand the standard algorithm.
Pendulum Swing
There was a lot of discovery with potential and kinetic energy today as we used our pendulums to cause a ping-pong ball to move. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify what they noticed as the arm of the pendulum went higher. They should state that the ping-pong ball went farther as the pendulum arm went higher. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
