What is Heritage?
The students discussed more in depth what is heritage and how we can share our heritage with each other. We had the opportunity to learn about different dances from other cultures today in our text. The students learned about a dance from India called the banhgra. They also learned about the Greek circle dances and discussed the American square dance. I have attached the videos we watched below so that the students can share what they learned about each dance.
Compare and Order numbers
The students reviewed how to compare and numbers during our math lesson today. We used a place-value chart and number line to help us compare numbers in order to determine numbers that are greater than each other. I am so very impressed how well students have done with discussing numbers.
Newton's 3rd Law- Daily Code
Pop goes the film canister! The students were heuristic in their learning today as they discovered how the mass of an object impacts the reaction from an outside force. The students used film canisters and alka seltzer to act as the force pushing on a film canister weighted by marbles. The students noticed that as they increased the amount of marbles in the film canister, they also needed to increase the amount of alka seltzer in their film canister in order to get the same reaction. The assignment notebook code is for the students to give you a quick summary of the experiment. Once they have given you a summary, you may write "Newton's Third Law" in their assignment notebook. I have had so much fun seeing the class come alive as we learn about motion! I hope you all have a great night and I look froward to another great night of learning!
