Today was filled with a lot of learning. The students completed the second session of the science MontCAS and will finish the third session tomorrow. Tomorrow we will honor Dr. Seuss's book The Foot Book by wearing a crazy combination of shoes. I look forward to seeing the creativity from all students come out!
We continue to learn about the Central Region of the United States in our reading books. The history of the South Central Region is rich in civil rights issues. The students discussed how the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement lead by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. shaped the history and culture of the South Central Region.
The students used their skill of finding common denominators in order to add fractions with unlike denominators. We discussed that we need to make sure the denominators are the same so we are adding the same parts of the whole.
Cantankerous was our word of the day today. Someone who is cantankerous is angry or annoying. The assignment notebook code is for the students to identify an antonym for the word cantankerous. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another great day of learning!
