Reminders
Today the students had a guest teacher and did a great job. All guest teachers are always impressed with the students't behavior and academic abilities!
The students read today about what it takes to live green. The students will be learning what we can do in order to protect our Earth's resources. The students will practice using the reading strategies monitoring comprehension and predicting. While monitoring comprehension, students ask themselves if they are understanding what they are reading. The purpose of making a prediction is for a student to engage in what they are reading in order to create understandings of what they are reading and check what they think might be told within a given text.
The students will have a short addition and subtraction test tomorrow to show what they know how to do with adding and subtracting. As we journey into the second quarter, students will begin expanding their skills in multiplication and division. I will continue to have students learn non-traditional strategies in order to create opportunities for students to create a deeper understanding of multiplication and subtraction. I will do my best with posting some of the strategies we use on the blog in order for you to understand the methods that are being taught in the classroom.
Mr. Meier visited the classroom today showing the students weather instruments. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to tell one fact they learned today. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another day of learning.
- End of the quarter is this Friday. I will accept all missing assignments and redos up until our library time (11 am) on Friday.
- Tomorrow's spirit day is Be a Hero, not a Zero! (dress like a superhero). I am sure you are all WONDERING what Mrs. Gray's secret superhero may be.
