Reminders
Today the students learned about the word copious. Our words this week have a specific theme focused around excess, specifically focusing on waste. As we continue to look at how what we do impacts our environment, the students are becoming passionate about sharing this information with others. Tomorrow, we will be looking at how we can share our research with others in order to impact a wider audience.
The students are quickly becoming adept with multiplying multi-digit numbers using the area model. I have made sure that students are truly understanding this process. This understanding will help students when we transition to using the traditional algorithm for multiplying.
We continue to focus on making clear, concise predictions that are based on evidence. I emphasize this skill with the students so that they truly gain an understanding of how predictions help us read and engage our brains in the text. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to tell the two parts they need for a prediction. They should mention that they need the prediction statement and the evidence they used to make the prediction. I hope you all have a great night and I look forward to another day of learning!
- Donuts for Dads is tomorrow starting at 7:30 in the morning.
- Our Veteran's Day performance for St. John's and Mission Ridge is tomorrow. Please make sure students come dressed to walk in the cold and dressed in red, white, and blue.
