We continued to add to our multiplication strategy repertoire through breaking apart a factor in order to understand the standard multiplication algorithm. The students will continue to gain deeper understandings of the standard algorithm as we look at why we use the algorithm and how it works.
The students continue to grow their writing abilities as they work on writing 5 paragraph essays. The students will expand their foundation of the writing structure we used last quarter as a way to create a writing piece that cites facts, uses a variety of sentences, and appropriate organization.
Students continued to learn about the peopling of the United States. The students learned how a majority of the European Americans and Africans came to the North American continent. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to tell you how one of these groups came to our country.
