What a wonderful week! I hope you all had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful weather!
The students are on their way to completing another round of great projects for their inquiry on places in the Central Region. Students are using PowToons, eMaze, and GoogleDocs to show case what they have learned in unit 5 of the Lead21 passages. It is very clear that students have gained an understanding of this region and are passionate about sharing what they have learned. Students will have time next week to finalize their presentations for the final presentation being shown on Friday.
We are wrapped up with our work on fractions as we prepare to move onto measurement and geometry. Students have shown their clear understanding of how to add, subtract, and multiply fractions. We will revisit fractions during the fourth quarter as we look at the relationship between fractions and decimals.
Students finished reading about the Midwest region today during social studies. The states and capitals test will be Tuesday, March 17th with the Midwest region test the following week. We will be exploring more of the Midwest through different activities. The assignment notebook code for tonight is for the students to identify one detail they have learned while reading about the Midwest. I hope you all have a great weekend and I look forward to another wonderful week of learning!
