Today we learned about the celebrations and holidays from other cultures. The students learned how we honor people through President's Day and MLK, Jr. Day. We learned how other religions celebrate their holidays and we also learned how Mexico celebration Cinco de Mayo.
We started our inquiry project today. The students do have an assignment over the weekend to find a family recipe and complete their family tree. I only ask for students to identify their great-grandparents from both sides, grandparents from both sides, their parents, and their siblings. If you are concerned about getting some of this information, please contact me and we can figure out how we can tweak the project to fit your family.
We had a visit from a KULR-8 meteorologist Erin Clanahan today. The students were able to learn more about wind and hurricanes. The students we very respectful and had great questions to ask throughout the entire presentation. Before long, we will have an entire class of meteorologists!
Our word of the day today was tenacious. The students quickly connected the word rigorous to tenacious. Sometimes you have to be tenacious in order to understand our rigorous education. The assignment notebook code is for you student to tell you have they have been tenacious in the past.
I am a fourth grade teacher going on my seventh year of teaching. I have truly loved every year that I have taught and I look forward to sharing classroom activities we take part in during this upcoming school year!
