Reminders:
The students have done such a great job with improving their reading abilities. We are all enjoying learning about other ecosystems and how we can protect these ecosystems. I look forward to seeing growth in all students' reading abilities as we complete the end of the year assessments for our Lead21 curriculum in the weeks to follow.
We are testing the ability of polygons to absorb a shock in math. The students are building lunar landers in order to successfully land two marshmallow astronauts on the moon. We are gathering data to determine which type of polygon absorbs the most force when used as the base of a lunar lander. Students who are not done with their Geo Drawings are using this time to finish their project.
We will be using an online practice called NoRedInk. The students can practice grammar rules and complete assignments I have given them through the NoRedInk site. Today the students learned about how to include colons with quotes.
The Alamo was our focus of our studies today in Social Studies. The assignment notebook code is for the students to identify one fact their learned about the Alamo. The states and capitals quiz for this region will be Wednesday, May 20th.
- Unit 6 Animal Dioramas/Posters are due Friday. The students will be presenting their research next week; however, I wanted to get a start on grading their projects over the weekend.
- Our Arbor Day Field Trip is Friday. We will be leaving at 9:30 and returning at 1:00. Please make sure that all students bring their lunch, a water bottle, and apply sunscreen before coming to school.
